When I'm stressed, I cook.
When I eat things that are good for me, I feel a million times better about life in general. The last few days have been quite stressful, and I had the morning to myself, so I made the most of it. There's a certain zen quality about cutting vegetables, for the moment everything else is tuned out and all that matters is that the food gets chopped and your fingers stay attached, and I dig that kind of clarity. Three eggs, half a pound of chicken, cucumber, tomato, avocado and some grilled onions and life seemed good again.
This was all natural light, too. The window in the kitchen was letting in some nice soft light onto the table where I was cutting everything up, so I busted out my macro lens, dialed down my aperture, and knocked this one off. To me, it almost looks like something my friend Annie Hall would take... but we'll call it "paying homage" instead of "ripping off", cool?
