Day 93

93/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Sooo I've been rockin' the beard lately.
It's done me well so far, but I'm not sure how long it's going to last for. I figured I needed to immortalize it while I still had the chance. Plus, I needed a new facebook profile picture, I haven't changed it since Day 45

I didn't really have a vision for this picture, I started with an idea but it totally failed, so I just started playing with the lights. Tony was over (he actually pulled the trigger on this one), so we just fooled around and came to this. We ended up with an SB-24 camera right with a 1/8" grid, and then used another SB-24 into an umbrella behind the camera for some fill. A little photoshop and viola. I think one of these days I'm going to do a post about all the different gear I have/use so that those who are curious can actually see how much you can do with very little. It's good stuff to know if you're just starting your kit, and it's stuff that I had to do a lot of digging to find, so it's worth repeating.

Tomorrow I start school and I'm kind of scared. Classes I can handle, it's this project that I'm worried about. Sure, I could take a picture every day... but is it worth it if my pictures start to suck? I guess we'll see how it goes. Even if this is the end, and the rest of my pictures are terrible, I know I've come a long way....just look at my self portrait from Day 7!
