Today we went to Power to the Peaceful in Golden Gate park. This little girl, obviously, was having a good time.
Golden Gate Park was friggin sweet. It was HUGE, had a ton of areas to do pretty much anything, and even had a waterfall. A WATERFALL! We had a nice twenty minute walk from where we parked to where the concert was, so I got to see it all. Then, almost out of nowhere, we came up to this:

It was PACKED full of people, apparently it was a big year. The line-up was good, with the big bands being Rebelution and Michael Franti. It had to have been one of the most eclectic groups of people I've ever been a part of. Dirty, dirty hippies were next to preppy high school kids, old war veterans were sharing peace offerings with middle aged parents, it was quite the experience. It's held on 9/11 every year, so you get the conspiracy theorists walking around with their signs too, which was great. It's hard to believe that it's been nine years since that terrible day that changed everything, but it's great that this many people will come together to celebrate peacefulness (the free concert part probably helps, too). It was nice to just kick back, relax, enjoy some tunage, feel the good vibes and do some people watching.
In the midst of our people watching, Yardley pointed out this little girl. It was hot out, and she was loving that juice box. Her glasses killed me, and I couldn't pass this one up.
