Day 91

91/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Today was the convocation for the 2010 freshman class. The man at the podium is Chancellor Yang, head of our university, a local celebrity and all around awesome dude.

I was shooting this for the newspaper here, but it was cool to hear the Chancellor speak. He has a funny accent, he's funny overall, and he has some good advice. You can tell he is passionate and he loves his job. It was also crazy to see how big the incoming freshman class is, too...

It is supposedly one of the biggest freshman classes ever, and this year was the first time UCSB has ever had a wait list.

The coolest part, though, was that this was the first time I've gotten to legitimately use my press pass. I walked right behind the stage with that puppy around my neck, walked up on the stage, and no one said a word to me. I could get use to that.
