Day 118

118/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

I spent most of my day in the library hunting down books for a research paper. The desks in the library are kind of like the post-its from Day 113 - everyone writes all over them.

I actually dig that part of the library, because a lot of the time people build off of what has already been left behind by others, and you can kind of reconstruct the progression of people's library induced delirium.

I will say, though, that I am hesitant about posting pictures like this. IV is covered in street art, and the buildings on campus all have little remarks/drawings etched into them somewhere. I love finding gems like that, but taking a picture of those things almost feels like stealing. I took the picture, which is mine, and there were certain decisions I had to make in taking that picture that makes that picture artistically linked to me. But when you photography someone else's art, it is wholly their artwork, too, and the lines begin to blur. Can something like this wholly belong to two people? It's something I think about a lot, and it's not something I have an answer for. I am kind of tempted to turn these library drawings into a series, though, so you might be seeing more of them (because I just love going around stealing!).
