Day 117

117/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

I came home for the day today to say goodbye to my cousin Lash.
At 4 A.M. on the 18th he'll be shipped to Georgia where he starts basic training for the Army. If you've been following my blog for a while, you knew this was coming (Day 29, The Poetry Series). My uncle had the family over to their house and we had a going away party for him and it was tough to see him off. I'm pretty much a pacifist, and selfish, and I would have had Lash do anything else for the next few years if I could, but in his mind, this was the best decision and I support that. Now I just have to hope that he stays safe, and maybe send him some dirty magazines to pass the time. My whole family was at the party, and I haven't been home in a month or so, so it was nice to see everyone, it's just a shame that it had to be under those circumstances.

We're all proud of you Lash and we all love you. I'll see you at Christmas, buddy.
