Day 108

108/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Shooting for the Nexus, I get to the opportunity to do some cool things I wouldn't normally do. Tonight, I saw the Pilobolus Dance Theater (who, interestingly enough, named themselves after a fungi that grows on herbivore poop).
I'm not big on dance, but this group is pretty sweet. I was only allowed to shoot for the first five minutes of the show, so I wasn't able to get pictures of what I consider the most interesting part of their act, but I got to enjoy it for free, so I'm not complaining.

I need to get some faster lenses to shoot this kind of stuff, I was getting some major blur tonight because of my shutter speeds. I really like this picture though, it feels like an impressionist painting to me, like you can see the brush strokes that make up the dancer's legs or something. Not really good for the Nexus, but great for my purposes.

If you have a couple of minutes, you should check out this group. They do incredibly athletic things and have an amazing control over their body, but they make everything seem effortless. They're really ethereal in some ways, more like moving sculptures than dancers. It's hard to explain, so if you are interested, you can learn about them here, or watch this video:
