It's Wednesday again, and while I'm not killing myself, I actually feel like I'm dying.  

I got hit with the flu today. Thankfully it's not making me yack, but I spent all day in bed. Feeling like crud is one thing, but what I hate most about being sick is being cooped up inside. I get antsy when I don't get to experience the world, it's the same reason why I don't enjoy the rain when it stays for days. I'm really hoping this isn't one of those "I'm going to be useless for the next two weeks" kind of sicknesses.


For this picture I set up my posing doll on our couch. I added my pillow and blanket for full effect, and then set up a bounce board above him. Then I used my 430ex II with a cheap sync cable and bounced it into the card to get some nice soft light from above. My 28-135mm lens is really shallow when it's in the macro range, so adding a touch of light helps a ton. And I cannot begin to explain how nice it is to have a sync cable. I got this one off of amazon for really cheap and I take it with me everywhere. I can control the flash from my camera and it makes my life a million times easier. Plus it lets me go past canon's 1/200 shutter speed limit, which is always super frustrating to work around.  If you have the option to use one and you aren't already then you definitely should!
