Day 237

237/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Today my dad decided to get himself a truck. When my mom saw it, she cried (and I don't think they were tears of joy).

In his defense, he bought the truck for super cheap. The previous owner's wife probably had feelings similar to my mom's and had to get rid of it. But it has a Camburg Racing front end that is worth almost as much as he paid for the entire truck. The engine is super clean, it has nice teflon rims and a...uhhh... sweet paint job. Plus this rad custom interior:

Alright, the paint job is pretty terrible. It looks like someone took some Home Depot spray paint to it. And maybe the interior isn't the greatest. And the roof doesn't help...

I think that's the part that brought my mom to tears. Who walks into an upholstery place and says, "I want the roof to be furry, with green and black stripes.... And make it wavy. Yea, wavy..."

I took it for a test spin and the truck is a beast. it's off-road ready which my dad is stoked about. My brother, who is really into trucks, is pumped on it too. My mom refuses to go inside of what we are affectionately calling "beetlejuice". She think it's more appropriate for a 16 year old. But until the truck my dad wants is ready, this is his whip. Hopefully once he gives it a new paint job it'll be more presentable. I'm thinking flat black to go with those rims...
