Day 182

182/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

It's still pouring rain here and I didn't do a single productive thing today. Normally that would drive me crazy, but today it felt amazing.

I like being at home because it's way easier to make a good picture when I have a lazy day. My mom has a lot of weird/awesome/random things around the house, so all I have to do is get creative with the light and the angle. This angel is sitting on our dining room table. We have a chandelier with these funky frosted glass leaf things coming out of it that hangs above the statue, so I plopped a flash in it and used it as a diffuser. Shallow depth of field to blur the background, high shutter speed to kill the ambient light levels, and a low angle to emphasize the angel's looking upwards and it's good to go. I had another frame with an all black background, but I liked the touch of color in this one. For spending all of 5 minutes on it, I'm pretty stoked how this turned out!
