Day 164

164/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Today I went to the fall art show on campus, called FUXED.

I like going to the art shows on campus, it's cool to see what kind of stuff comes out of UCSB. A lot of the pieces are interactive, too, which is always really cool. The painting above is had balloons with paint in them and a couple of darts. Not to toot my own horn, but I popped a pretty big balloon (the one with the blue splatter on the right). It is by far the most artistic splatter of the bunch if I say so myself.

There were a couple of other cool pieces. One was this group of arranged rings:

I have no idea what they actually were, but I liked them. Another piece had this weird puppet eating breakfast:

My favorite piece, though, was this deconstructed couch that was part of a living room scene. It was all torn apart, showing the different layers of material. It was facing a wall with a giant print of a living room area, and the entire thing was surrounded with these really surreal looking shapes that were made with chicken wire and cotton. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to take a picture of it that I liked.

Overall it was a cool show, I hope they have more next quarter!
