Day 163

163/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Today is skateboard appreciation day.

Since my legs have hurt for the last few days, and my muscles have been super tight, I have had to walk to all my classes (it was more of a shuffle, really). It would take me anywhere from 20 minutes to a half hour to get anywhere, and I realized how much I love my skateboard. Not only does it get me places exponentially faster than walking, I actually enjoy the ride.

I kind of got this board on a whim and I'm really glad I did. My mom had bought me a pair of shoes from a local skate shop and they didn't fit, so I went to return them. I didn't like any of the shoes they had at the place, but I saw this board and I liked it, so I paid the difference and went on my way.

I didn't think much of it, but it's actually the perfect board for me. It rides like a longboard, but it's short enough to let me weave through crowds. It's quick. It's sturdy. It's friggin stylish. I love my skateboard, and it felt so good to ride it again today.

As far as lighting goes, this is one flash, my new 430ex II. I had Chad, my latest V.A.L. hold it low and camera right. Quick and dirty, but I love the texture that it gives me.
