Today sucked for the most part, but I realized how incredible a good pair of headphones can actually be.
These are my headphones, they were kind of an early Christmas present to myself. They are Audio-Technica ATH-M50
I woke up fairly early today. My first final wasn't until noon, so I had to do that awkward I'm-killing-time-but-I-don't-want-to-do-anything-that-requires-thinking-because-I-have-a-final-soon thing, which I hate! I showed up at noon and left 10 pages and 2 hours later. Then I had another intense final at 4, so I had to kill even more time which sucked. Again, I showed up, took my test (another brutal 8-10 pages), and left with a hand cramp.
I had to study for my next final (which was at 8 the next morning), and I was absolutely brain-dead. I killed some MORE time, and after getting sushi and playing some 007 on the N64 with Jordan, I was ready to dive back into things.
The main problem I have in IV is actually finding a place to study. It's hard to study at home because you have roommates and neighbors and people all around, not to mention an N64 with golden eye plugged in and ready to go. And the library is never really a good option, especially during finals week. It's usually crowded, chock full of people who don't want to be there and will do just about anything to distract themselves from studying. There's always coffee shops, but those aren't ever open as late as you need them to be.
This is where the headphones come in. It's amazing how a good pair of headphones can give you some personal space. When you put them on, you carve out a little section of wherever you are and it becomes yours. Everyone else melts away. These headphones have saved me this week, I quickly came to the realization that having them over my ears is the only way I could get any work done.
