I feel like I've been hunting for my pictures lately, and I have been getting very, very lucky.
I haven't had to come up with a photo for a few days now, I've just been finding them. Today, like yesterday, is a great example. The fog rolled in and stuck which is super depressing considering it's August. I always get bummed out because fog seems to kill off all the colors in this beautiful beach town, but it got me thinking in black and white. So I set up my camera and went for a stroll. I wanted to try to keep the flower/beach/sunset pictures to a minimum for this project, and I've been doing a pretty good job, but I couldn't help going down to the beach today. A black and white beach with some thick fog is like smoke for me, it's my kryptonite.
Right as I got to the beach, I saw this surfer walking up towards coal oil point. I knocked off about ten frames before he was too far away and was fuzzy from the fog. I knew I had gotten what I wanted, so I turned around and walked back up the stairs. If I hadn't, I would have been shooting there for days.
