Day 43

43/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

Chase Jarvis once said "The best camera is the one you have on you."
I had a hellacious day, and I have been finding it hard to fit this project into my schedule. It's cool though, I anticipated that, so I have had a camera on me at all times to try and take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves, and it's proven very useful. I think Chase Jarvis' quote is fantastic, because it totally pokes fun at the photography community. There are nerdy people who get lost in the technology, they get in arguments over megapixels, chip sensitivity, noise reduction and all this other stuff, but none of it matters if you don't have your camera on you at the right moment. The best camera truly is the one you have on you. Luckily, today that camera was my point-n-shoot, the canon powershot SD 1000. It's a fantastic little camera with a great lens and I love it. It's been everywhere from Israel to Colorado with me, and it always produces.

That being said, I'm kind of torn about this photo. When I started this project, I knew I didn't want it to be 365 days of sunsets and flower pictures, so in that respect, this picture bums me out. On the plus side, this was one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in a long time, and I couldn't resist. Hopefully we can go another 43 days without a sunset, then I'll be happy.
