This is Augie. 
 
Augie is like a tornado. He storms in, generally causes a ruckus, and leaves as quickly as he came. I had the pleasure of living with him last year and he always kept things lively. I told him I wanted to shoot him for this project and I wanted to use a fisheye, the first thing he said was "isn't that going to make me look fat?"

But later he drooled on himself without hesitation.

We started shooting, and I wanted to do more of a character portrait, but the lens I had rented (I got a bunch of gear for yesterday's wedding) was 8mm and WAY too wide for that. Then I had Augie climb on a roof, and that stuff was pretty cool. Then he hopped down and proclaimed "I want to climb into the dumpster," and he did just that. A sombrero and a bottle of tequila appear almost magically from the neighbors house, and suddenly the picture came together.  


I have to say, this was one of the funniest shoots I have ever done. People were eyeing Augie as he crawled into the dumpster, and instead of shying away, he'd scream "I'M A MODEL!" They wouldn't know what to do with themselves at that point, and I almost keeled over laughing.


My favorite part about this picture is the response I got from some of our mutual friends. More then one person on more than one occasion asked "were those posed or did you find him like that?"
