I grabbed a couple of cool assignments from the newspaper over the next few days, so I figured I'd put the multiple exposures on the back-burner for a bit. Today I shot Steve Aoki.
He's a pretty well known DJ in his own right, but where he shines is his record label. Dim Mak is the home of The Bloody Beetroots, Dada Life and MSTRKRFT to name a few. And Aoki is a former Gaucho, which is pretty rad. His set was good, but he played a couple of his songs multiple times which is a *wee* bit narcissistic if I do say so myself.
He knew how to entertain though. He crowd surfed multiple times, climbed up on top of the speaker stack, and eventually climb up onto the rafters of the venue. He even created a wall of death near the end of the show, using a Rage Against the Machine song, which was pretty intense.
To top it all off, some people had light gloves, so I got to play around with some slow shutter speeds:
