Another failed attempt at some night photography. I think I figured out a third fatal flaw though, I feel like my next adventure is going to be fruitful. I did grab this little gem though. I'm a sucker for abstract images sometimes and for whatever reason, I liked this picture.

I'm 21 years old. For all intents and purposes, I'm a grown man. And still, when I am getting ready for bed and I have to turn out all of the lights in my house, I have a mini panic attack while I'm in the dark. Am I the only one who runs from the light switch back to my room?

I went home today for Easter. The last few years I didn't get to color eggs, so this year I made sure everything was in order. I was bonding with my little cousin and it was a blast. While I was taking my time, using a spoon, and making some rad rasta colored eggs, my cousin was grabbing her eggs and dunking her whole fist into the colors. By the time we ran out of eggs, her hands looked awesome.

I was downtown in SB tonight shooting a metal band playing at a club for their music video. They were the headliner, and the first opener was absolutely terrible, so we went outside the club to save our ears from the sonic assault. I caught this little gem in the window of the store across the street and I couldn't help myself. How often do you get a polar bear to model for you?

I had a kind of surreal experience today. I was walking to work to drop something off and I heard this beautiful, airy music. It wasn't loud but it carried throughout all of Storke Plaza. I went to investigate and found this guy, just chillin' on a bench.

We actually got to light some things in our lighting class today (what a novel idea....), and after we finished our portraits, I went over and snapped this of Sean. They were lighting a car scene in front of the green screen and I think it's going to look pretty good, now if only they could find a good actor....

It was a manic Monday today. I drove from Santa Barbara to Burbank, dropped off some film, went home to visit the family for a bit, went back to Burbank to pick up my film, and then ended up back in Santa Barbara to shoot Ellie Goulding's show on campus!

300 days. That blows my mind. And I spent the whole day at Cam Con, so I was surrounded by camera stuff on this mini-milestone. These guys next to me are two of the best steadicam operators in the world, and they're also two of the nicest people I've ever met.

Today was the first day of Cam Con, and I learned how to strike a 12K light.

I walked out to our sound stage on campus and I saw the bat signal. This is what happens when a grip has too much free time on set (edit: Leigh corrected me, this is actually the electric department!). To the bat-stage!

Every spring the trees on campus explode and I love it. I had no idea what kind of trees they actually are, but their blossoms are beautiful.

Last shot of my film roll, seemed appropriate to end with a selfie. Durr....

This is Mike. His surfboards are almost indestructible. Seriously though...

I had to shoot an assignment for the Nexus today, and to get the shot I wanted I ended up climbing way back into the hills. The shot turned out terrible, but I found these things. I have no idea what they actually are, and I can't really decide if they are beautiful or creepy. What's crazy though is to compare it to something like Day 290, the differences between the expired film and digital are astounding.

This picture trips me out. When I scanned my film, everything came in upside down. It wasn't a big deal, I just flipped everything in photoshop, but this picture is way more interesting this way. And since you can actually read the "STOP" on the ground, it kind of makes sense.

There was an Earth Day celebration in the park today. So what if Earth Day is almost two weeks from today? Sometimes it's nice to just listen to some good music and watch girls dance with hula hoops.

JT fished this out of the alleyway and hid it in our neighbors kitchen. When they got home, it scared the bejeezus out of them. And even though it's gross, ratty, cracked, and missing a nose, for some reason no one wants to get rid of it. So for now, it's living on our porch. I know this isn't a double exposure, but I couldn't pass it up. I think the colors, contrast, and grain are perfect in this picture.

On Day 274 I had New Orleans style coffee and it was delicious. On Day 289 I finally got the stuff to make it. You can get the recipe here, and I would highly suggest trying it. And on another note, it's kind of cool to see how this film actually looks without being exposed twice, it's easy to see how much it's deteriorated. It's so b-e-a-utiful!

I love the way expired film looks. It's a shame it's so hard to come by.

Today I shot John Cleese of Monty Python fame.

I brought my 35mm camera to Steve Aoki, one of today's shots is from the crowd. The glow sticks make this picture look crazy.

UCSB is surprisingly good at winning contests. The students are really good at promoting/voting on things for whatever reason. My freshman year we won a free Death Cab for Cutie concert. This year, we won a contest to have a movie premiere at our school. The movie, Your Highness, is a stoner comedy starring James Franco and Danny McBride. Today I learned the difference between people who star in movies and Movie Stars.

I grabbed a couple of cool assignments from the newspaper over the next few days, so I figured I'd put the multiple exposures on the back-burner for a bit. Today I shot Steve Aoki.

The cool thing about doing multiple exposures are the days blend together. I nabbed this picture of Dustin yesterday, and then found this cool brick wall today. I love how the shadows from both of the pictures play with each other here.

Katie and Dustin were camping in Carpinteria, so I went and visited them. They are some of my favorite people and I love them both dearly. Plus they're ridiculously cute together which is awesome. I LOVE how this picture turned out. The film I used to shoot all of these pictures expired in 2006, so I got some cool color shifts, and the portrait/texture combo is awesome. Plus Katie is gorgeous, which helps.

Today is the first day of my last quarter of college. It trips me out just thinking about it. Kind of like last quarter's fisheye series, this quarter I decided to do some 35mm multiple exposures.

Spring break is over and it's back to school I go. On Day 196 I set out some goals for my winter quarter, so I figured now would be a good time to see how I did.

Today I played in a beer pong tournament to celebrate Jordan's 21st and his start at Cal Poly SLO. He was so excited he threw the keg.

This is the film I've shot over the last few days and all I want to do is watch it. But I can't. So now I'm left to stare at it, and it's going to stare back at me until I can drive to LA to take it to the lab, have them process it, drive back to LA to pick it up, and find a projector and a screen to watch it on. Remind me again why film is so cool?

Day 4 on the road and today we explored San Francisco.
