Day 150

150/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.

This is my friend Joe. He, like me, is easily talked into things.
I'm taking a class on road movies (think Easy Rider or Thelma and Louise), and instead of writing ANOTHER 10 page paper this quarter, I opted to make a short film. So I wrote a script, tormented myself trying to make it decent, and then convinced Joe to star in it.

Time is short on this project, and Joe is in the middle of shooting his own movie (remember the shoot from Day 146?), so we had to fit the shoot in where we could. We woke up at 7, hopped in the car, and got to it. The whole film takes place inside of a car, with most of it coming from one angle. I was inspired by Abbas Kiarostami's movie Ten, which is a really interesting film if you ever have the chance to watch it. Anyway, my movie is either going to be really rad or absolutely terrible, there isn't really a middle ground. I'm hoping it's the former and not the latter (isn't it confusing when someone uses that phrase, you always have to go back to the previous sentence, it's super annoying).

Anyway, this is Joe, in Tony's car, going over the script. It's all natural light, luckily it was a foggy morning in SB so it's all really soft and pretty.  I'm really stoked with the footage we got today, now I just have to record some voice-over work and edit the whole thing before it's due, easy right?
