I spent most of today cooped up inside editing the stuff we shot yesterday. I left my house for about a half hour to get food. I'm my own worst enemy, I'm like a slave driver sometimes. All I wanted to do all day was go outside, it was absolutely beautiful. I snapped this one off and enjoyed what was left of the day's sun, then it was back to work. Until next time...

I went down to LA yesterday to hang out with the always amazing Tony Ung. We spent the evening shooting a commercial for a contest, and part of it took place in a subway. Did you know we have a subway in LA? Because I didn't. I have never been on a subway before, and no one has ever tried to steal my camera before, so it was quite the experience.

I need to quit shooting in garages, but today my brother Garrett brought me to work with him. If you have met him, you know that Garrett loves trucks.
So I've been at this for a little over a month now, and I'm starting to get the hang of things. This project is important to me, and arguably the most important part is displaying my work. After I take a picture and post it, it's done and dead. The only way to keep it alive is by exhibiting it, which is why this blog is here. I want this blog to be as accessible and entertaining as possible, so I need your help.

Another long day on the road today as I left Laughlin for good today. It's crazy to think my summer is only halfway over with how much I've already done, but it's even more crazy to think that I start summer school in a week. I'm gonna miss the long drives through the desert, but hanging out on the beach between classes shouldn't be too bad either.

So the rules for this project are kind of loosely defined (that's the beauty of being in charge). Today's picture was actually taken by Rita, and I did some photoshoppin'. I had a photo planned for today, but I liked this one too much to pass it up, so the other one can wait. One of the best photos so far, and I didn't even take it. Either I need to throw in the towel, or Rita needs to start a 365 of her own.

Today was an exciting, but almost kind of sad day. This is my camera, and it's about to be retired.

I've finished my first month, and it feels pretty good! I went back through my photos the other day, and I'm actually proud of a number of them, especially the portraits. Hopefully I feel the same way with the next month's worth of pictures. Yesterday we headed up to Lake Mojave and it was quite the adventure...

The last two days have been crazy, a long day on the boat ran into an early morning heading to the lake and I haven't had time to post. Day 31 will hopefully be up in the morning, I just need to nab it off another camera. I'm getting nostalgic on my last river trip, and I couldn't go all summer without posting a wakeboarding picture. I actually landed this one, but the next one I wrecked myself. It was a relaxing day, which was nice because today was quite the opposite. But more on that in tomorrow's post...

I ALMOST got this one in on time. In my defense, I took it at about 11:15 tonight. Day 29 is my cousin Lash.

I'm a college student. Throughout the last academic year, my primary modes of transportation were a skateboard and a fixed gear bicycle.

Today was my cousin's 6th birthday. She's a beautiful little girl, but all you're going to get is her hands clutching her birthday ice cream cone. Overall a pretty good day, even though I'm still not feeling 100%. Until next time...

I knew from day one that I wanted to do portraits of my grandparents as part of this project, and today I got to spend some time with my Grandma.

I haven't been feeling too hot today. I was hoping to shoot my grandma today after shooting my gramps yesterday, but I just wasn't up to it. I did catch up with some old friends later on, though, and snapped this shot of Heidi looking at Karina after finishing some fro-yo. Nice pink wall in the background and natural light coming through the window, nothing fancy this time. Now for that nyquil...

This is my Grandfather. We call him Papa and he's a badass. This pose was totally natural, he was just buttoning his cuffs, but I find it amazingly telling.

This one was handed to me by the universe. I left my apartment today on a mission to sweet talk my way into the photo lab at UCSB...

About 6 months ago, I made some ebay purchases that I was really stoked about. I found two old brownie cameras, one a Brownie Reflex Synchro and the other a Brownie Holiday Flash. They both shot 127 size film, which was standard then, but is rare now. It's hard to find film, and even harder to find someone to develop it (without paying an arm and a leg, at least). I was determined to use these cameras, though...

This post and the next one are coming in late. I had to finish moving into my apartment in beautiful Isla Vista and my internet hadn't been set up yet. I did a lot of unpacking, and even scored some free swag from friends that are moving away (big thanks to the one and only Steven Ray Morris for this HUGE china ball!). I had taken another picture for this day, and was relaxing on my couch playing around with my camera. I took this shot, with natural light, and liked it better than the shot that I had used 4 strobes on (I know, right?).

Day 20 had to be Jordan. The explanation is after the jump...

Today I threw a BBQ/reunion with my old TV crew from high school. After slaving over a hot grill for hours, I finally got to get into the jacuzzi, and low and behold, the clouds surround us and it started sprinkling...

This one is waayyy late, I was having some photoshop issues (apparently you're supposed to pay for it...). I did pay for a new lens though! Click through to read about it, and some comments about day 17's photo.

For reasons unknown to me, the food network is on at my house 24/7. Last night I couldn't go to sleep, and I got sucked into the various cooking shows they have to offer.

Today was tough. This project is getting hard, and after two weeks I'm hitting my first wall.

This one is coming in right at the deadline because I just walked in the door from driving back from Arizona. This was the photo I wanted to grab the other day when I forgot my camera, and while it's not overwhelmingly spectacular, I think it's incredibly interesting.

Today is America's birthday, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate it than shootin' some semi-automatic rifles.

And finally the after picture! After days of begging my mom for a haircut, I finally got one. I feel naked and am suffering from phantom limb syndrome, but I have to admit it feels nice to be aerodynamic again.

Today I forgot to take my camera out with me and I missed the shot I had planned on getting. In the end though, I think it worked out for the best. By the end of this year, I want to try to take portraits of all of my family members, so today was a great opportunity to shoot my brother Blayke.

Today was hectic, and I was feeling the pressure.
