About a month ago, I shot a movie about two stoners who get struck by lightning, and I got really excited about getting to light the smoke.


By lighting, I mean shooting light at the smoke, of course. Smoking anything is gross and terrible for you, but unfortunately, it looks amazing. Production for the movie came and went, and I never got to light the thick plumes I was hoping for. I have wanted to light some smoke with two different colors for a while, so last night we busted out the hookah and I grabbed my kit. I'm really stoked on how it turned out, and I had a hard time settling on one picture. Overall, I'd say it was a success!


strobes: 2 SB-24's, one gelled red under the smoke pointing up, one gelled blue under the camera pointing out towards the smoke. 
lens: 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
