Day 8

8/365, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.
I am, admittedly, the worst golfer there is. I make Charles Barkley look graceful, and that is exactly why I love this picture.

After sitting around doing random work today, inspiration was not striking. I mentioned that I hadn't taken my picture yet to my brother and Austin (pictured), and we decided to go play some golf. There was a nice hole that overlooked the lake, and we'd be hitting it right about sunset, which I thought would be perfect.

Like I said before, I am a terrible golfer. I am kind of hunched over and jumpy when I swing, I always look up before hitting the ball and I can't help but smack the crap out of it. Austin was having a rough start today, too. We lined up the lake shot, and Austin shanked it into the water. I immediately followed suit, and Austin, always consistent, smacked another one into the drink. Garrett loves to heckle and loved the fact that we were struggling. Then he lined up and smacked a beauty over the water. He turns to us smiling, "Man, it feels good to be the only one to make it over."

Cut to Garrett, 2 minutes later, lining up his fairly easy chip shot. Austin was standing at the pin, ready to pull it and move on to the next hole.

Day 8 - ball highlight

Instead of dropping it in easy, Garrett sends it sailing over the green in an act of karmic retribution, and I was lucky enough to grab the shot.
