Day 1 (June 22, 2010)

Fayth, 6/22/10, originally uploaded by Aaron LaRue.
I am going to take a picture every day for a year.

It seems like a good idea (right now anyway). I know it's going to be hard, and I know I will probably struggle with it after a few weeks, but it's something I want to do. I think taking a picture of myself every day is extremely narcissistic, so I'm going not going to limit myself. I'm going to do portraits, landscapes, experiments, HDR, and
anything else I can think of. I'm going to take photographs of my family members, my friends, random strangers I meet, the food that I eat, the adventures I go on, and whatever else I come across. Hopefully, when this is all over, I'll have learned something. At the least, I'll have a pretty sweet photographic journal, and that in itself seems worth it to me.

For the first photo, I set up a black sheet in my living room, and wrangled my new little sister into posing for me. At 11 months old, she's pretty curious, and can barely sit still. I feel like this picture captures her wonder and excitability. I also feel like we're in the same boat. I have no idea where this project is going to take me, where I'll end up, or what will come of it. But I'm curious and excited.
